First day of December is more than a flip of the calendar for The Neat Little Bookshop;  it is the day that Google Blogspot feature, "Continue to Checkout," becomes functional.

After weeks of no illustrations or photographs, we are now able to present the front cover of Breathing Water by Marina Martin.  The cover graphics and art-work throughout Marina's November release are by her daughter.

The Neat L'l Bookshop is pleased to present an afternoon with the poet on Saturday, December 8, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.  Circle your calendar.  Light refreshments ~ "The coffee pot's always on..."
Published Poet Marina Martin
Many know Marina Martin from her work as a physiotherapist in Haldimand County.  Marina has previously had her poetry published; however, this is her first book.  We wish her continued literary success.

From "Four Sonnets" by Edna St. Vincent Millay

IV
I shall forget you presently, my dear,
So make the most of this, your little day,
Your little month, your little half a year,
Ere I forget, or die, or move away,
Edna St. Vincent Millay Wikipedia
And we are done forever; by and by
I shall forget you, as I said, but now,
If you entreat me with your loveliest lie
I will protest you with my favorite vow.
I would indeed that love were longer-lived,
And vows were not so brittle as they are,
But so it is, and nature has contrived
To struggle on without a break thus far, ~
Whether or not we find what we are seeking
Is idle, biologically speaking.

~ Edna St. Vincent Millay (1892 - 1950) American Pulitzer Prize-winner for Poetry in 1923.
