Gram's Books ~

Dorothy's Collectibles
The saying goes something like this, "The road to a friend's is a short one."  There are special folks with whom one looks forward to spending time.  Today we spent part of the morning with one special lady.

Dorothy has owned a bookshop for over thirty years, having started out small, we presume ~ it was before our time ~ and over the years built up a circle of friends and thousands of books.  Probably just as many friends.

Dorothy, we wish you health.  Take precious care of yourself.  We will see you again soon.

Buckingham Palace posted on Twitter, "And We're Off! The #diamondjubilee weekend begins."  (That says it all in fewer than 140 characters!)

It was 1953.  The fashion magazines were featuring the new rayon fabric.  A British expedition under Edmund Hillary conquered Mount Everest.  An armistice was signed in the Korean War. Winston Churchill was preparing his Coronation speech.
