Fascinating Personalities & Readings ~

On the first and third Thursdays of each month, we reserve the Round Table for coffee and informal readings, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
When we haven't scheduled any particular author, poet or orator, without exception other fascinating personalities pour a cupa and no day goes by without conversation. "The love of learning, the sequestered nooks, And all the sweet serenity of books."
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807 - 1882)

"Most people live, whether physically, intellectually or morally, in a very restricted circle of their potential being.  They make use of a very small portion of their possible consciousness, and of their soul's resources in general, much like a man who out of his whole bodily organism, should get into a habit of using and moving only his little finger.  Great emergencies and crises show us how much greater our vital resources are than we are supposed."

~ William James (1842 - 1910), American psychologist, philosopher.

"Minds are like parachutes.  They only function when they are open."
~ attributed to W.J.
