Historic King Street ~ Cayuga, Ontario

Grindstone Creek Gallery Pottery Studio & Gift Store ~ Opening on Saturday, June 25, 2011

A new shop on historic King Street, downtown Cayuga. It is an exciting development watching life return to what was originally the main business section of the village. In fact, King Street crossed the Grand River in the early years ~ bridging an island in the middle.

Kimberly and John Jeffrey came camping in the Haldimand area and decided to stay, purchasing the former Oddfellows Hall. The beautiful red-brick archways of their new store and studio are over a hundred and fifty years old.

Store Hours:

Wednesday to Saturday: 11 am - 5 pm
Sunday: 1 pm - 4 pm

"To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better place than we found it, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one breath breathed easier because you lived, This is to have succeeded."

~ Bessie Anderson Stanley (Amer., b. before 1900, d. 1952)
Best known for the famous poem, "What is Success?" written for a contest in 1904, Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.
