The Raven ~ Edgar Allan Poe

"Open here I flung the shutter when, with many a flirt and flutter,
In there stepped a stately Raven of the saintly days of yore;"

~ Edgar Allan Poe (1809 - 1849) American poet, writer, editor, literary critic.  Poe wrote the poem "The Raven" only two years before his death in October, 1849.
